Treasurer’s Report

  • Financial statement is not included here because this is being viewed publicly
  • Vickie Marie sent to Elyse Hansberry, our treasurer, the prepared taxes.  Elyse will send in all the forms to IRS and pay the fine for being late.  We will also send in our state taxes.  We owe about $2,000.00
  • In the future Vickie Marie and Peggy Chittick will take care of our taxes.
  • Discussion on putting some money in a higher interest account such as CD or money market account.  There also was concern about creating a special purpose account to lower our tax obligation.  Peggy Chittick will look at our various options, including fees, restrictions on funds, access to money and potential interest rates.  She will report back to the club at the next meeting.

Agility Trial

  • All the committees jobs are filled and things are going smoothly.  Helen will send out an announcement about when to show up to help set up Saturday morning.

May Obedience Trial

  • Barb Arkin moved and Elyse Hansberry seconded that we have the 2011 trial start on Friday.  Passed unanimously.  In 2010 we will start the trial on Saturday. We will also be offering the new Advanced Teamwork class.
NEW BUSINESS
  • Karen Hiteshew suggested that the club needs to update our logo.  She brought samples for us to see.  Helen Phillips will check into the logo that Bob Miller designed for the club a few years ago.  Most people liked the logo with the mountain that Karen brought.
  • AKC Star Program
  • Lyss Seymour is interested in starting an AKC star program.  This program works with pet owners and helps people raise better mannered dogs.  She will get information and present it to the club.
