Meeting at Café Del Sol Minutes

In Attendance
Barb Arkin, Ann Carlson, Peggy Chittick, Betina Kimbell Cholewinski, Terri Desnica, Peggy Finnigan, Amy Galperin, Elyse Hansberry, Donna Montgomery, Howard Palmer, Lee Palmer, Helen Phillips, Sue Raney, Pat Skavlen.
President, Terri Desnica, called the meeting to order at 6:42 pm.
AKC is contacting clubs to remind them about their on-line service for trial entries. Helen will ask Carol Makowski about whether we have this option.
Secretary - the minutes were approved as read.
Treasurer’s report
Amy suggested that we buy a new trailer. Helen moved that at we check into getting a new trailer. Elyse Hansberry seconded. Barb Arkin and Amy volunteered to look into different options
Old Business
Logo – Terri presented new ideas and will ask Bob Miller if he can design a graphic. We should also look at adding color.
Trophies and gifts for judges and volunteers.– Barb Arkin brought samples of bags and water bottles. There were many options the group liked; some of the companies do not require large minimum orders. Kelly will look into options from a friend who may give us good prices. We would like to have bottles for judges and stewards. Trophies have already been purchased for 2010.
Star program on hold until next meeting
CD options for funds - Peggy Chittick did research for investing excess club money. Interest rates are very low right now. We discussed money market accounts and other options. More research is needed. Kelly moved that Peggy talk to her accountant to figure out the rules for taxes for our club. Seconded by Helen. Passed unanimously.
October agility trial –We made over $3,000 it was a big success
Obedience trial– Amy will look into hiring a local judge for rally ring. We will need only one rally judge next year.
Obedience Seminar
We decided to keep prices same as last year. We will have catered lunches.
Dates - May 15th and 16th, 2010. Sandra Ladwig is the seminar presenter.
The rent-a-ring will be January 3.
We are having a post-Xmas party at Helen’s on December 27. Barb Arkin will be backup in the event Helen’s place is snowed in.
People should send Helen job descriptions to be posted on the website. Amy will take responsibility to get materials on website to Helen.
Board positions –
It was moved by Barb Arkin, and seconded by Amy to change the constitution so board positions are two years. Passed unanimously. 2010 would be a new election for board because present members are serving their first year in 2009.
The next meeting will be December 27.
